Hotel Review: Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur Autograph Collection, YTL Hotels | A Short Staycation in KL | Le Gouter - French Afternoon Tea & French Dining at Brasserie 25

Hello Lovelies!

Where did you go for the last school holidays?

I had a short getaway at Hotel Stripes KL!

Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection

Strategically located at Jalan Kamunting, 
Hotel Stripes features a distinctive vibe and character local heritage with a mix of 
modernity and urban chic which connects guests to the pulse of an urban neighbourhood. 
The Hotel is part of Autograph Collection Hotels by Marriott International under YTL's.

The Front Desk Employees are friendly and always ready to serve you.



The Hotel has 184 bespoke guest rooms and suites with unique blend of contemporary 
design and urban chic, reflecting the history and character of the neighbourhood. 

There are four room categories to choose from which are 
Deluxe, Executive Deluxe, Studio and Executive Studio.

I stayed in one of the Executive Deluxe Room.

The Executive Deluxe Room is spacious, comfortable and modern 
featuring custom furnishings, soft carpet and free Wi-Fi
not forgetting its contemporary design with a hint of urban chic.

Black and White retro picture of Jalan Kamunting during the 1940s to 50s.

There's nothing better than starting the day with a great cup of coffee.

with a view peaking through the shutters.

Love their mirror, so stylish and chic in design!

Overnight Essentials including Toothbrush, Toothpaste, 
Cotton Bud, Shower Caps, Body Lotion were provided.



The bathroom was floor-to-ceiling marble with a glass shower door.

Shower Gel, Shampoo and Conditioner were supplied.

The water temperature is just nice, took a hot shower bath!
And Yes, there's a marble shower bench for you to sit in the shower!

24-Hour Gym Room

Equipped with comprehensive state-of-the-art fitness amenities featuring three treadmills, 
two elliptical machines, two bikes, weight machines, exercise balls and mats, 
the fitness room is designed to boost your energy levels during the stay.

Sweat Towels, Water and some Sweets were supplied.
Green apples were also supplied for post-workout snack!

Headphones were supplied as well.

Perfect for sun-worshippers looking to cool down on a hot day and relax 
on a lounge chair watching the sky streaked with color as the sun sets on the city!

Rejuvenate your senses with a dip in the pool and have a bird's eye view of Kuala Lumpur.

 The rooftop pool is only open from 7 AM - 7 PM.

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to make it to the pool as it was raining at the time 
but we manage to take few beautiful pictures of the city's skyline!
We actually plan to take beautiful shots of sunset and night view 
as well but sadly the rooftop area is closed when we got there.

Never mind, there's always another day.

Brasserie 25

Brasserie 25
A French-style restaurant located on Level 1 
serves French High Tea, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

It draws inspiration from STRIPES' sister hotel, 
MUSE ST Tropez with perfect blend of traditional and modern.

Brasserie 25 exudes a rustic charm with its red brick arcades, 
dark wooden floors, chic furnitures and mid-century copper sputnik chandeliers.

With its open kitchen concept, you can catch a glimpse of the chef!

Cozy ambience with a dramatic yet relaxed vibe.

Welcome drink while waiting for food to be served.

Le Goûter

Hotel Stripes offer Afternoon Tea with a French twist in the form of Le Gouter.
Are you ready to indulge?




 Chocolate-flavored variant of a caffe latte,
 finishing it with a cute latte art.

 Hot Savory

Hot Savory consists of Curry Puff, Salmon Quiche, Risotto Ball, Sausage Roll.
Personally love the Sausage Roll and the Risotto Ball which is made of rice and cheese!

Raspberry Macaron

A colorful French treat that's hard to resist!
The sweetness of the shells are well-balanced by the Raspberries.

 Citron Tart

Mini French-style Lemon Tart with creamy lemon curd filling.
Tastes just nice with perfect balance of sweet and sour flavours!

 Strawberry Tart

Mini tarts filled with fresh Strawberries in a delicate cookie crust.


French Almond tea cake topped with sliced Almonds.
Light and moist to the bite!

 Chocolate Financier

A classic moist and tender brownie-like Chocolate tea cake.


A rustic baked French country dessert made of Cherries and topped with Sliced Almonds.


A classic Eclair of light choux pastry topped with icing and filled with colorful glazes.


Spongy Orange flavored cake with a shell-like shape.
Delicately flavored with soft and sweet texture.

 Langue De Chat (Left)
Also known as Cat Tongues.
These light and crunchy butter flavoured French biscuits 
are the perfect afternoon treat with a cup of tea!

Biscotti (Right)
Biscotti, also known as Cantuccini, 
are Italian almond biscuits that originated in the city of Prato.
Crunchy and light with a well balance of sweet!

 Available from 3 - 6 PM

Enjoy Free Flow of Sweets and Hot Savory
with a choice of refillable Coffee or Tea at  
RM 80 nett per person

Dinner at Brasserie 25

  Salade Nicoise

Salad as Starter. Great introduction to your meal!
Mesclun Salad with a mix of Tuna Flakes, Anchovies, Black Olives, 
Hard-Boiled Egg, Green Bean, Cherry Tomato, Boiled Potato

Baked Burgundy Escargots with Garlic Herbs Butter (6 pieces)
It's tender and juicy to the bite in a delightful garlic and herb froth.

Priced at RM 40

 Carre D'agneau En Croute D'herbes

Roasted rack of Lamb with Herbs, Honey and Mint Mustard Sauce, Mashed Potato.
Perfect well done with tender meat and it goes really well with the Mint Mustard Sauce,
definitely a perfect combination of texture and flavour.

  Linguine A La Vongole

 Clams Linguini
Rich in taste and smooth in texture.
Tender Clams in a garlicky sauce served over pasta is just nice!
Love the texture of Linguini, firm, springy and chewy to the bite!
 Not forgetting the Cherry Tomatoes that make up the taste with a hint of sweetness.

 Chocolate Fondant

Chocolate Fondant dessert with a soft Chocolate Cake exterior and 
mouthwatering melting molten middles that oozes rich Chocolate Sauce. 
It's moist and spongy to the bite with Vanilla Ice Cream topped.

 Poire Belle-Helene

 An indulgent French dessert made of Poached Pears with Dark Chocolate Sauce.
Served with Vanilla Ice Cream and topped with Sliced Almonds.
 Priced at RM 30

 Cold Press Jus Du Jour

Breakfast at Brasserie 25
The breakfast buffet was ample from salads to entrees
to desserts with a mix of local and Western flavours.
It includes traditional choices of Continental Breakfast, American
breakfast and Asian Style Breakfast with a daily rotation of menu.

Overall Impression

Had a pleasant experience in Hotel Stripes!
It's definitely a nice place for staycation in KL, we always felt welcome!

Love the overall design of the hotel and rooms
which is very stylish and contemporary at the same time.
The ambience is very relaxing and cozy as well.
The overall service in the hotel was great, warm and amiable at the same time.
You will find that every staff in the hotel from door person, front desk, housekeepers
and restaurants always hold a smile on their faces and greet you enthusiastically all time.

All in all, I enjoyed my short staycation at Hotel Stripes,
hopefully for a longer stay next time!
